What is alpaca wool?

Alpaca wool is a natural fibre obtained from alpacas. It's known for being incredibly soft, warm, lightweight, and hypoallergenic. Our products are handcrafted using premium alpaca wool.

What is the difference between alpaca wool and Merino wool?

Alpaca wool is generally warmer, lighter, more durable, and more hypoallergenic than Merino wool, mainly because its fibres are hollow and lanolin-free. It wicks moisture 85% better than Merino and does not have the microscopic, itchy barbs, making it ideal for sensitive skin.

What is the difference between alpaca wool and cashmere wool?

Alpaca wool is generally warmer, more durable, more hypoallergenic, and more sustainable than cashmere, while offering similar, high-end softness. Unlike cashmere's solid fibres, alpaca fibres are semi-hollow, providing superior, lightweight insulation and natural moisture resistance. It is also less prone to pilling.

How do I care for my alpaca wool products?

Hand wash in cold water with mild detergent or wool wash. Lay flat to dry. Do not wring or twist. Avoid direct heat or sunlight when drying. Dry cleaning is also recommended.
